Tagged!

LuvLee tagged me almost a month ago (yikes), so here goes:

1. If you could have $100.00 worth of scrapbook paper or assorted embellishments, which would you choose? I would choose ribbon and eyelets

2. If you had to choose between using only stamps or ribbons, which would you choose? Stamps, because you can do cute one layer cards, and they make stamps that look like ribobn

3. If you knew how to do both awesome cards and layouts but could only do one for a whole year…which would you do? Cards, I'm already way behind in scrapbooking, another year won't hurt!

4. Would you rather own a scrap book store or have your own scrapping room at home? Room at home, I'm afraid trying to run a store would take all the fun out of it.

5. What is your CURRENT card making or scrapping style? Simple

Not Quite Navy Thanks!

Here is a card I made for a challenge on the demo side of SCS. I used the Time Well Spent stamp set that was just sent to demos, the ink is Not Quite Navy, Purely Pomegranate, and Wild Wasabi. Cardstock is white and Not Quite Navy, and the ribbon is double-stitched wild wasabi. I think it turned out quite cute - especially since it only took about 10 minutes! Love quick and cute...

SCS Holidy Tutorial Blitz Projects

Here are some things I made from the Holiday Tutorial Blitz tutorials over on Splitcoaststampers

Here is a treat box based on Beate's treat box tutorial the paper is from an odd assortment I had left over from last Christmas, I'm making myself promise not to buy any holiday based paper until I've used up all the paper from that holiday that is in my stash.

Here is a party favor treat box, based on Beate's tutorial. The original tutorial from SCS can be found here.

Long time no post!

Ok, I'm making an early New Year's resolution - to post here at least every two weeks. November was a hectic month and I'm so glad it is December, a calmer month, for me at least! Starting next Tuesday after fall graduation I'm off work until January 8th and I'm so looking forward to it.

Anyway, here are some pictures of recent creative works...

The first two are lap quilts mom and I made for grandmothers. The bright one if for granny who lives in a nursing home, the sepia toned one is for my Dad's mom to match her livingroom. All the pictures are pictures of her kids or her parents, etc. I hope they each like them.

And here is a birthday card I made for Grandpa. I think it came out quite manly! It uses DCWV papers, MFT stamps (Let's Here It For The Boys), and SU! 5/8th inch Old Olive Grosgrain.

Here is a school folder planner I made this morning. I got the idea from Blue Moon Stamping and JanTink (I love her blog - she is too funny with the chocolate)

I have no idea where the paper/ribbon/stickers, etc. came from - they are some I bought last year for my moms Christmas scrapbook gift. I'm determined to not buy any Christmas paper this year, except maybe Dashing from the SU! sale in November.....

Anywho, the first pic is it closed....

This is the first "page" of the planner, or the left side of the folder.

And here is the second "page" or the right side of the folder. I'm still trying to get better at taking the photos - another one of those things I want to learn!

My Craftroom/Office/Guestroom

Ok, I've been looking at everyone else's scraprooms and thought I'd post mine.....I rearranged and reorganized everything about a month ago and I like 100x more than I used to! I know it isn't quite at awesome as some on SCS, but it is mine and I like it!

So, this first picture is my scrap/stamp desk It is always a mess! I need to find something for that big white wall above it - I hate empty white walls, but it is an apartment so I can't paint. Oh well, I'm sure I'll find something for it!

Turning counter clockwise from there you'll see one of my storage bookshelves, the closet doors with inspirational signs, and the spare bed with 82,000 pillows - ok, I exaggerate a bit!

Turn a bit farther counter clockwise and this is the next wall, no white space here! All my inks, my Cricut and all my papers, ribbon, stickers, etc. are in this corner.

Then turn a bit further and you are at the computer desk!

The room is about 10x11 with one window above the spare bed.

Anywho, this is my play place!

7Year Quilt

I started this quilt when I was a senior in HS, and seven years later it is finally finished! I had it all pieced and was about half through quilting it when I decided to quit and throw it away. Luckily, my mom wasn't having any of that so she stored it away in case I wanted to finish it one day. Then a couple months ago we were working on another project and she pulled out the quilt top to this quilt! She had taken out all of my awful quilting from before and took off the backing and batting (I had sewn the back to the front and stuck the batting in like a pillow case before I started quilting - bad idea!) so we could start fresh on finishing it. It is hanging above a king size bed and is about twin size. Colors are navy, cranberry, and sunny yellow.

Crabby August

Ok - I'm in a Yahoo group that is doing a 8x8 calendar page swap, and I chose to do August. I've spent the last 3 weeks trying to determine a theme since the lady doing September is doing back to school. So I decided last week to use Crab & Co. and the Sandy Shells wheel and do a beachy theme and here it is! Both Crab & Co. and the Sandy Shells wheel are on the dormant list so I wasn't going to buy them, but then I saw all the samples at SCS and had to have them - now I'm glad I did.

More Past Projects

Here are some notecards and a holder I made for my mom for Mother's Day last year (pre-SU). The papers are the adorable SEI Aunt Gertie Garden set.

Here is an accordian board book I made for Mom for Mother's Day. It matches the notecards. The pictures are from various times and most include me and brother and mom. Sorry my pictures are so yellow - I'm not sure why my camera was doing that when I took the pictures...

BLOG CANDY UPDATE!!!!

Ok - now I'm able to give some specifics! The BLOG CANDY!!! will include:
Your choice of 3 of the following Stampin' Spots:

Weekend at Chehaw

Here where I live we have a nature park/wild animal park/BMX park/campground called the Parks at Chehaw - which I happen to volunteer at! Here is a link if anyone is curious... http://www.parksatchehaw.org.

Friday I was out there for Light the Night, it went so well. And Saturday I was out there for Rummage for Rhinos, a city-wide yard sale to benefit the Rhino Conservation Fund. We raised over $600 for rhinos! Yay!

So after I that I was tired and lazy the rest of the weekend, but I did make it to the gym Sunday - the pool and whirlpool were wonderful :)

Anywho, here a calendar I made for a craftshow. I don't plan to post pictures of everything I create for the craftshow, but I didn't have any other creative creations this weekend :(

You Scored an A

You got 10/10 questions correct.

It's pretty obvious that you don't make basic grammatical errors.
If anything, you're annoyed when people make simple mistakes on their blogs.
As far as people with bad grammar go, you know they're only human.
And it's humanity and its current condition that truly disturb you sometimes.

BLOG CANDY!!!!!!!!

Ok, I feel the need to give out some blog candy! It will be a goody envelope with ribbon (both Stampin' Up! and non-SU), some Prima's, and some Stampin' Up! classic ink spots, and maybe one or two other things.

Now, this is what you need to do - post a comment to this post with your favorite Stampin' Up! color combo. Easy right?

I'll pick a winner on October 1st.

More Celery Mom Madness

Ok, since the calendar was so popular here are the matching birthday card and dry erase board. I used the same colors/stamps as on the calendar in a previouse post.

Here is the dry erase board, all I did was adhere some white paper to pretty cardstock and laminate making it erasable. Next time I will use cardstock instead of printer paper.

I love the hot knife!

Ok, I'm one of those weird people who likes to "unmount" their stamps. I was having the most aggrivating time trying to cut the EZ Mount foam that I was sticking the rubber to for making cling type stamps until I saw the hot knife on another blog - I think it was the Bella blog.

So, I was considering buying a hot knife after seeing how well it worked on another blog and thought "But wait! You already have 2 different heat tools with different attachments, surely one is a knife tip!" So I checked my stash of rarely used goodies and there it was - I mounted about 7 sets in around an hour! I'm in love!!!!!

The Gym and some sewing

Ok - I've finally decided I need to take better care of myself and started going to the gym. I went on Monday and my trainer had me do some upper body weights, and now 2 days later I can barely move my arms! Oh boy did I overdo it! So today I'm going back and we'll be doing lower body weights and hopefully I won't overdo it today!

Anywho - here is a picture of a project from a couple weeks ago, a lap quilt! All the patterened fabric is Mary Engelbreit (my favorite)!

And this is a matching Cricut cover for my bug - both items match my craft room/spare room/office.

Ramblings and a calendar too...

Woo Hoo!!!! I"m officially a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator! I'm so excited.

Anywho, if you've happened across this blog you've noticed that I haven't done much with it yet :( Hopefully in the near future I'll have some pictures of things to show you and some information about Stampin' Up! specials that are going on. One day I hope this blog is as neat as some of the ones I've been looking at recently from links over at SplitCoastStampers. The ladies (and guys) over there are so talented!

For now, here's a picture of a calendar I made for my mom's fridge. The paper is certainly celery, and the ink is Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose. The stamps are Bud Basics
